Diploma in Theology and Christian Spirituality
The online program is designed to bring the Institute’s renowned theological program to the door steps of many individuals who yearn for sound theological education but are unable, for different reasons, to engage in fulltime studies.
The Diploma program in Theology and Christian Spirituality aims to provide sound theological and pastoral education to priests, consecrated persons and laity who require such skills and competences for a more effective academic and pastoral ministry/apostolate. It provide the partipants with requisite theological formation that would help them understand the issues and problems that confront them in their different apostolates and ministries while at the same time articulate responses to these issues in ways that are consistent with the Church’s doctrinal, pastoral and social teachings. Drawing from the wealth of Catholic theological and spiritual tradition and also insights from the Behavioural sciences, this program elaborates a theology and spirituality of consecrated life, or theology and spirituality of lay ministry with the specific goal of assisting participants grow in deeper and more matured understanding and appreciation of their vocation. In this way, consecrated persons and laity learn to assume greater responsibility for their religious, spiritual and moral growth as they attempt to live out their life of consecration within the context of their particular vocation and their assigned apostolates.
This program is important for both simply and solemnly (finally) professed religious. This program builds upon whatever formation they may have received during and after their basic formation, i.e. during the novitiate and after profession of simple vows. This program, therefore, serves as an ongoing formation program that deepens and strengthens the theological, spiritual and moral formation of consecrated persons.
The Online Diploma program runs for a period of 104 weeks and is 100% online. The program is structured in a way that will enable students meet the demand of their respective employement/trade/apostolate, while acquiring concurrently a very sound theological, pastoral and spiritual formation.
